Target Information

Bradykinin (BK) is considered an important mediator of edema, shock and inflammation during sepsis. Bradykinin causes arterioles to dilate, leading to increased blood flow. It also allows water to leak from blood vessels into surrounding tissues, which can lead to inflammation in the area. The rapid enzymatic degradation of BK has been a challenge for the quantification of systemic BK levels.
