In mice, Tropomyosin-3 (TPM3) functions primarily as an actin-binding protein crucial for cytoskeletal regulation. It plays a pivotal role in managing actin filaments by stabilizing and regulating their dynamics through binding, which in turn influences cell migration, division, and the maintenance of cytoskeletal integrity. During embryonic development, TPM3 is essential for myocardial morphogenesis and myofibril assembly.
