Mouse NADH Dehydrogenase 1 (ND1) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

NADH dehydrogenase 1 (ND1) is a subunit of mitochondrial complex I, also known as respiratory chain complex I, and plays a critical biological role in mice. ND1 is primarily involved in the electron transport chain's redox reactions, facilitating proton flow across the membrane by transferring the reducing power of NADH to coenzyme Q (CoQ), thereby promoting ATP synthesis. Additionally, ND1 regulates mitochondrial oxidative stress responses and cellular metabolic homeostasis. In mice, ND1 expression can mitigate respiratory dysfunctions resulting from complex I deficiencies, such as MCI deficiency. For instance, conditional expression of ND1 significantly enhances the respiratory rate and hyperventilation response under hypoxic conditions, underscoring ND1's essential role in maintaining respiratory function and oxygen regulation. Moreover, in certain neurodegenerative disease models, ND1 expression exhibits potential neuroprotective effects.
