Target Information

Estrogen receptor beta is a nuclear hormone receptor that binds estrogens with similar affinity to ESR1/ER-alpha and activates the expression of reporter genes containing estrogen response elements (ERE) in an estrogen-dependent manner. ERβ plays a significant role in the reproductive system of mice. Research indicates that both ERβ and estrogen receptor α (ERα) are involved in regulating the development and function of the reproductive system. ERβ, for instance, is implicated in the reproductive phenotype of male mice, suggesting its potential role in reproductive function, although the exact mechanism requires further investigation.
