Target Information

In mice, Epoxide hydrolase 4 (EH4) primarily functions in lipid metabolism and may influence inflammation and cardiac function. EH4 can be linked to specific biological roles in certain contexts. For instance, its knockout during mouse development may result in growth retardation and altered behavioral phenotypes. Additionally, EH4 might be involved in sebum metabolism and the development of certain tumors, although the precise mechanisms require further investigation. In studies related to ischemic myocardial infarction, NADPH oxidase 4 (NOX4) has been found to promote inflammatory responses and cardiac remodeling by enhancing the activity of soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH). The EH enzyme family encompasses various enzymes, including microsomal epoxide hydrolase (mEH) and soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH), which play key roles in regulating lipid metabolism and signal transduction molecules.
