Target Information

Ephrin-B2 is a cell surface transmembrane ligand for Eph receptors, a family of receptor tyrosine kinases that play critical roles in migration, repulsion, and adhesion during the development of neuronal, vascular, and epithelial tissues. It binds promiscuously to Eph receptors on adjacent cells, resulting in contact-dependent bidirectional signaling between neighboring cells. In mice, Ephrin-B2 has several functions, including regulating angiogenesis, pain perception, neural regeneration, immune regulation, and tissue repair. Mice lacking Ephrin-B2 exhibit vascular remodeling defects during embryonic development, leading to abnormal artery and vein formation, highlighting its essential role in maintaining normal vascular function.
