Target Information
Bovine Vitamin K-Dependent Protein Z is encoded by the PROZ gene in cattle. It is a plasma glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in coagulation. Researchers has demonstrated a physiologically relevant interaction between protein Z and thrombin. A mechanism whereby thrombin is localized to an injury site by virtue of its interaction with protein Z bound to phospholipid surfaces has also been suggested.
