Target Information

Deoxycholate (DC), also known as deoxycholic acid, is a bile acid that is produced by intestinal bacteria as a metabolic byproduct of cholic acid. It is one of the secondary bile acids, produced by the metabolism of cholic acid by intestinal bacteria. The liver primarily secretes two primary bile acids: cholic acid and chenodeoxycholic acid. Bacteria further metabolize cholic acid into deoxycholic acid.
