Mouse Sirtuin 2 (SIRT2) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

NAD-dependent protein deacetylase sirtuin-2 (SIRT2) is an enzyme that deacetylates lysines on histone, alpha-tubulin, and various other proteins, including key transcription factors. SIRT2 plays a crucial role in liver metabolism by modulating protein acetylation levels. For instance, a deficiency in SIRT2 reduces the activity of essential enzymes such as lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in male mice, impacting glycolysis and glucose metabolism. Under a high-fat diet, SIRT2 deficiency worsens insulin resistance and influences fatty acid oxidation and energy expenditure through deacetylation. SIRT2 also protects cardiac function; its absence leads to cardiac hypertrophy and dysfunction, while overexpression improves cardiac function and reduces damage following myocardial infarction. In aged mice, a lack of SIRT2 exacerbates cardiac hypertrophy and age-related vascular dysfunction, highlighting its significant role in maintaining cardiac health.
