Target Information

Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) is a biologically active sphingolipid metabolite that regulates the survival, differentiation, and motility of cells. S1P is derived from ceramide, which consists of a sphingosine molecule linked to a fatty acid. It is involved in the processes of cell migration, proliferation, and autophagy. During development, sphingosine and sphingosine 1-phosphate are considered critical mediators of cell death and survival.
