Target Information

Bovine Atrial Natriuretic Peptide Receptor 2 is encoded by the NPR2 gene in cattle. The NPR2 pathway has been shown to inhibit meiotic resumption in mammalian oocytes. Bovine NPR2 is localized not only in cumulus cells (CCs) but also in oocyte membranes. Its expression in bovine CCs and oocytes is synergistically regulated by estradiol and oocyte-derived growth factors. NPR2's involvement in CNP-mediated responses makes it a key player in cellular regulation, especially in the context of skeletal growth and development.
