Target Information

Norrin, also known as Norrie disease protein or X-linked exudative vitreoretinopathy 2 protein (EVR2), is a protein encoded by the NDP gene in cattle. Signaling induced by Norrin regulates vascular development of the vertebrate retina. It controls important blood vessels in the ear. Research has shown that norrin restores tight junction complex organization and blood-retinal barrier properties in a β-catenin-dependent manner.
