Target Information

The Procollagen II C-terminal propeptide (also known as PIICP) is a significant polypeptide found in cartilage. PIICP is one of the most abundant polypeptides in cartilage. It serves as a marker of cartilage formation. Procollagen II C-terminal propeptide (PIICP) is a biomarker of cartilage metabolism. Research has shown that there was no interaction between backfat thickness and PIICP in Duroc boars.
