Target Information

Antileukoproteinase is a group of enzymes that inhibit the activity of proteases, enzymes that break down proteins. It is found in various tissues and fluids, including the lungs, skin, and blood. It play a crucial role in protecting tissues from damage caused by uncontrolled proteolytic activity. It is encoded by the SLPI gene in pigs. It is a protease inhibitor which inhibits various serine proteases, including elastase, cathepsin G, chymotrypsin and trypsin.
