Sheep interleukin-12 subunit beta (IL12B) is a vital subunit of interleukin-12 (IL-12) in sheep, playing a central role in the immune response by promoting the production of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) and stimulating the differentiation of T cells into Th1 cells, which are crucial for defense against intracellular pathogens. It is also implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases such as multiple sclerosis and asthma due to its overexpression in the central nervous system and association with disease severity in children, respectively.

User Note
