Target Information

Mouse Complement Component 1 Q Subcomponent-binding Protein, Mitochondrial (C1qbp) is a multifunctional protein involved in mitochondrial homeostasis, oxidative phosphorylation, and immune responses. It is essential for maintaining mitochondrial plasticity and metabolic fitness in T cells, thereby enhancing their antitumor function. C1qbp also plays a role in dendritic cell metabolism and maturation, influencing immune responses. In cancer, C1qbp is implicated in breast cancer metastasis, where it regulates cancer cell chemotaxis and is associated with distant metastasis and TNM stages. Additionally, C1qbp interacts with cyclophilin D to inhibit mitochondrial permeability transition and protect cells from oxidative stress-induced cell death. It is a potential therapeutic target in cancer and mitochondrial diseases.
