Target Information
Canine Neurotrophic Factor BDNF Precursor Form (BDNF) is a critical protein involved in neuronal development and function. BDNF exists in two forms: the precursor form (pro-BDNF) and the mature form (m-BDNF). Pro-BDNF is synthesized in the endoplasmic reticulum and processed into m-BDNF through intracellular and extracellular cleavage. In dogs, BDNF plays a key role in promoting neuronal survival, synaptic plasticity, and learning and memory processes. It also has neuroprotective effects and is involved in the regulation of immune responses. BDNF is widely studied in the context of neurological disorders and brain development, making it an important target for therapeutic interventions.
