Target Information
Bovine granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), also known as Bovine G-CSF, is a glycoprotein that stimulates the bone marrow to produce neutrophils, a type of white blood cell crucial for immune defense. In cattle, G-CSF is primarily involved in the regulation of neutrophil production and release, which is vital for the animal's response to infections. It helps in the proliferation and differentiation of neutrophil precursors, leading to an increase in the number of circulating neutrophils. This protein is also important for the recovery from neutropenia, a condition characterized by an abnormally low count of neutrophils, which can be induced by factors such as chemotherapy or certain infections. The use of G-CSF in veterinary medicine can help prevent and treat neutropenia-related complications, thereby supporting the overall health and well-being of cattle.
