Target Information
Rat Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG) is a glycoprotein localized on the surface of myelin sheaths and oligodendrocyte membranes in the central nervous system (CNS). It is a minor component of CNS myelin but plays a significant role in the immune response associated with demyelinating diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS). MOG is an important autoantigen that can induce experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) in animal models, leading to severe chronic demyelination.
