Rat DOK3 is an intracellular adaptor protein with conserved phosphotyrosine-binding and pleckstrin homology domains that sustain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It is predominantly expressed in hematopoietic cell populations and gathers at plasma membrane inner sides upon upstream signaling activation. Its multi-domain cytoplasmic scaffold structure and immune cell-biased expression distinguish it from secreted circulating cytokines, single-pass transmembrane receptors and chromatin-binding nuclear transcriptional regulators with simplified structural assemblies and broad tissue distribution profiles.
