Specifications
Target Information
Mouse torsin 1A (TOR1A) is an AAA+ ATPase protein encoded by the Tor1a gene in Mus musculus, mapped to chromosome 1. It belongs to the torsin family of AAA+ ATPases, featuring a conserved ATPase domain, N-terminal hydrophobic region and a C-terminal tail critical for its conformation. It localizes primarily to the endoplasmic reticulum and nuclear envelope, with ubiquitous expression in mouse tissues and enrichment in brain, spinal cord and skeletal muscle. The protein mediates endoplasmic reticulum homeostasis and membrane dynamics, with conserved motifs essential for ATP hydrolysis and protein interaction. Mouse TOR1A shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct subcellular localization differentiating it from TOR1B and other AAA+ ATPase family members.
