Mouse PHF8 is a nuclear epigenetic regulator carrying conserved PHD zinc finger and histone demethylase domains that maintain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. Its intranuclear chromatin-modifying architecture and broad developmental tissue expression differentiate it from transmembrane receptors, soluble secreted signaling ligands and cytoplasmic scaffolding adaptors with streamlined single-domain assemblies and static single-compartment subcellular localization profiles.
