Target Information
Mouse NUAK family SNF1 like kinase 1 (NUAK1) is a cytoplasmic and nuclear serine/threonine kinase of the AMPK-related family. It features a conserved N-terminal catalytic domain, regulatory phosphorylation sites and a GILK interaction motif critical for structural integrity. It localizes to cell cytoplasm, nucleus and microtubule cytoskeleton, with tissue-specific expression in mouse brain, heart and developing cortex, with low levels in liver and skeletal muscle. The protein mediates substrate phosphorylation and signal modulation, with conserved motifs for intermolecular binding. Mouse NUAK1 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct specificity differentiating it from NUAK2.
