Specifications
Target Information
Mouse Hermansky Pudlak Syndrome Protein 1 (HPS1) is a cytoplasmic protein component of the biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles complex-3 (BLOC-3), a core regulator of lysosome-related organelle (LRO) biogenesis. It features conserved N-terminal and C-terminal domains for protein complex assembly, a central interaction region, and structural motifs critical for stability and subcellular trafficking. It localizes to the cytoplasm and late endosomes of mouse melanocytes, platelets and lung epithelial cells, with negligible levels in muscle and neuronal tissues. The protein mediates LRO formation and cargo sorting, with conserved motifs for binding to BLOC-3 subunits. Mouse HPS1 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct tissue specificity differentiating it from other HPS family proteins.
