Target Information

Mouse contactin 2 (CNTN2) is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily, a core regulator of neuronal development and axon guidance. It features six conserved extracellular Ig-like domains, four tandem fibronectin type III repeats, and a C-terminal GPI-linkage region critical for membrane anchoring. It localizes predominantly to the surface of mouse cerebellar granule cells, spinal cord neurons and myelinating glial cells, with negligible expression in non-neuronal tissues. The protein mediates cell-cell adhesion and signaling complex formation, with conserved structural motifs differentiating it from CNTN1 and CNTN3 isoforms.
