Target Information

Equine IL-5 is a cytokine produced by Th2 cells and mast cells. It plays a key role in the development and activation of eosinophils. IL-5 binds to the IL-5 receptor on eosinophils, promoting their survival and activation. This cytokine is involved in immune responses against parasites and contributes to allergic inflammation. IL-5 also enhances the production of IgA by B cells and plays a role in the maintenance of gut homeostasis.
