Target Information
Glutathione is a 307-Da tripeptide whose γ-Glu-Cys-Gly backbone and thiol group form mixed disulfides, driving redox buffering, phase-II detox and protein glutathionylation. A solvent-exposed 5-aa "KVE" motif (Cys-Gly) linked to carrier proteins presents a fixation-stable epitope unique among small-molecule antigens. Antibodies to this hapten detect glutathionylated proteins in liver cytosol, lung epithelium and stimulated macrophages, yielding crisp cytoplasmic puncta and single-band blots without cross-reaction to free cysteine or oxidized glutathione.
Shipping and Storage
This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
