Target Information

Bovine Interleukin 1 Alpha (IL1a) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that plays a key role in immune responses. It is produced by various cells, particularly macrophages and endothelial cells, and is involved in the initiation of inflammatory reactions. IL-1α binds to the interleukin-1 receptor type I (IL1R1), activating intracellular signaling pathways such as NF-κB and MAPK. This leads to the production of other pro-inflammatory cytokines and the recruitment of immune cells to sites of infection or injury. In cattle, IL-1α is essential for host defense against pathogens and is involved in both innate and adaptive immune responses.
