Mouse SH2D1A is a small cytoplasmic adaptor protein featured with a single conserved SH2 domain for molecular interaction under physiological conditions. This protein accumulates in cytosolic compartments close to cell membranes within lymphocyte populations. Its compact single-domain binding structure and lymphoid-restricted distribution differentiate it from multi-spanning transmembrane receptors, large secreted matrix peptides and complex nuclear transcriptional regulators with extended multi-domain architectures and broad static subcellular localization patterns.
