Target Information

Nuclear Factor of Activated T-cells, Cytoplasmic 1 (NFATC1), also known as NFAC1, is a protein encoded by the NFATC1 gene in pigs. NFATC1 plays a role in the inducible expression of cytokine genes in T-cells, especially in the induction of IL-2 or IL-4 gene transcription. It also controls gene expression in embryonic cardiac cells. NFATC1 is a target of RANK signaling. It is required for remodeling of the growing and adult skeleton and it may be an effective therapeutic target for osteoporosis associated with inflammatory states.

Target/Biomarker Porcine NFATC1
