Target Information
Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) has the ability to bind to estrogens, fatty acids, and metals. In mice, AFP holds significant biological importance in terms of gene expression, immune regulation, and disease research. The AFP gene in mice is activated during embryonic development, particularly in the endoderm of the yolk sac and within the fetal liver and intestine. Post-birth, its expression is suppressed, but it can be reactivated during liver regeneration or in cases of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Research on mouse AFP offers essential technical support for cancer diagnosis and treatment.
