Target Information

Proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) is an auxiliary protein for DNA polymerase delta and epsilon, playing a key role in regulating eukaryotic DNA replication by enhancing the polymerase's processibility during the elongation of the leading strand. In mouse ovaries, PCNA expression is closely linked to the formation of primordial follicles and oocyte apoptosis. Research indicates that PCNA facilitates the assembly of primordial follicles by promoting oocyte apoptosis. Additionally, PCNA expression in the testis is associated with the spermatogenesis process. In mouse testes, PCNA is primarily expressed in spermatogonia and primary spermatocytes, but it is not found in supporting cells such as Sertoli cells, or interstitial cells like Leydig cells.
