Target Information

Platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase 2, cytoplasmic, is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of the acetyl group at the sn-2 position of platelet-activating factor (PAF) and its analogs, resulting in their inactivation. It hydrolyzes propionyl and butyroyl groups at about half the efficiency of PAF. Known also as PAFAH2 or PLA2G7B, this enzyme is ubiquitously expressed in mice, with a primary role in hydrolyzing oxidized phospholipids, particularly oxidatively fragmented phosphatidylethanolamine (OxPLs). It is found in various tissues, including macrophages, liver, kidney, colon, testis, and pancreas, but is present at lower levels in other tissues.

Target/Biomarker Mouse PAFAH2
Target Synonym SD-PLA2; Serine-dependent phospholipase A2; Platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase 2; cytoplasmic
