Target Information

Protein Lifeguard 1 (LFG1), also known as Glutamate [NMDA] receptor-associated protein 1, serves as a multifaceted player in cellular processes. Bovine Protein Lifeguard 1 is encoded by the GRINA gene in cattle. LFG1 acts as a potential apoptotic regulator. It uniquely protects cells from Fas-induced apoptosis. It was reported to be associated with milk fat component in Danish and Chinese Holstein cattle.
