Target Information
Tebufenozide is an ecdysone receptor agonist used as a selective hydrazide insecticide. It disrupts the molting process of lepidopteran pests (such as caterpillars and armyworms) in crops like rice, vegetables, fruit trees, and tea. Its connection to animal-derived food safety occurs primarily through dietary carryover. Livestock can ingest tebufenozide residues when they are fed agricultural byproducts, forage, or straw treated with the pesticide. Because it is relatively stable and lipophilic, ingested residues have the potential to bioaccumulate and transfer into animal fat, meat, milk, and eggs.
