Target Information

Mouse Myoglobin (Mb) is a critical intracellular hemoprotein found predominantly in cardiac and skeletal muscles. It is composed of a single polypeptide chain and a heme group, which allows it to reversibly bind oxygen. Mb plays a key role in oxygen storage and transport within muscle cells, facilitating oxygen supply to mitochondria during periods of high metabolic demand, such as intense exercise. It also acts as a scavenger for reactive oxygen species, protecting cells from oxidative damage.

User Note

  1. Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Avoid mixing by vortexing or pipetting. Reconstitute in 10 mM PBS (pH7.4) to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
