Target Information

Sheep TIMP1 is a secreted regulatory protein with conserved metalloproteinase-binding domains that maintain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It is synthesized by fibroblasts, epithelial and immune cell populations and accumulates in extracellular matrix and body fluids. Its soluble multi-domain inhibitory architecture and widespread tissue presence distinguish it from transmembrane receptors, cytoplasmic scaffolding adaptors and chromatin-interacting nuclear transcriptional regulators with simplified single-domain assemblies and cell-type restricted expression patterns.
