Target Information
Rat IL-4 is a cytokine produced by Th2 cells, mast cells, and eosinophils. It plays a key role in immune responses by promoting the differentiation of naive T cells into Th2 cells. IL-4 binds to the IL-4 receptor, activating the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. This cytokine stimulates B cell proliferation and antibody production, particularly IgE. It also enhances the expression of class II MHC molecules and adhesion molecules in macrophages, contributing to immune regulation and inflammatory responses.
