Rat DOK1 is a cytoplasmic signal docking protein with conserved phosphotyrosine-binding domains that maintain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It is abundant in multiple immune cell populations and recruits downstream effectors to assemble intracellular signal transduction complexes. Its multi-domain adaptor structure and broad hematopoietic expression differentiate it from secreted cytokines, transmembrane surface receptors and nuclear transcription factors with simplified single-domain assemblies that distribute mainly in non-immune somatic cell subgroups.
