Target Information
Mouse shisa homolog 4 (SHISA4) is a transmembrane protein of the Shisa family, a regulator of transmembrane receptor maturation and trafficking. It features a conserved N-terminal extracellular domain with cysteine-rich motifs, a single transmembrane segment, and a C-terminal cytoplasmic tail critical for structural stability and protein interaction. It localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and cell membranes of mouse neuronal and epithelial cells, with negligible levels in hematopoietic and muscle tissues. The protein mediates receptor glycosylation and cell surface expression, with conserved motifs for binding to G protein-coupled receptors. Mouse SHISA4 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct tissue specificity differentiating it from SHISA1 and SHISA3.
