Specifications
Target Information
Mouse epiphycan is a small leucine-rich repeat proteoglycan encoded by the Epyc gene in Mus musculus, mapped to chromosome 5. It belongs to the SLRP family, featuring an N-terminal signal peptide, multiple conserved leucine-rich repeat motifs and a C-terminal domain with potential glycosaminoglycan attachment sites. It localizes predominantly to extracellular matrix, with tissue-specific expression in mouse cartilage, bone, tendons and other connective tissues, with minimal presence in visceral organs. The protein mediates extracellular matrix assembly, collagen fiber organization and matrix structural integrity maintenance. Mouse epiphycan shares conserved functional motifs with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct sequence features that differentiate it from other SLRP family members.
