Target Information

Chemokine C-X3-C Motif Ligand 1 (CX3CL1), also known as fractalkine, is a unique chemokine that exists both as a membrane-bound protein and a soluble molecule. It specifically binds to its receptor CX3CR1, which is expressed on monocytes, macrophages, and natural killer cells. CX3CL1 plays a crucial role in leukocyte migration and adhesion, facilitating the recruitment of immune cells to sites of inflammation. In mice, CX3CL1 is highly conserved and is involved in various immune responses, including the regulation of immune cell trafficking and the maintenance of immune homeostasis.
