Target Information
Bovine Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) is a dimeric glycoprotein enzyme with a molecular weight of approximately 140 kDa, containing four zinc atoms and four disulfide bridges. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphate monoesters, such as p-nitrophenyl phosphate and glucose-6-phosphate, and is most active at pH 8.5. ALP is involved in various biological processes, including bone mineralization, nutrient absorption, and detoxification of inflammatory agents like lipopolysaccharides (LPS) in the gut. It is commonly used for dephosphorylation of proteins and nucleic acids, as well as for labeling and detection in immunoassays.
