Target Information

Mouse Beta-2-Microglobulin (B2M) is a 12-14 kDa protein that forms a subunit of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules. It is expressed on the surface of all nucleated cells, including lymphocytes, monocytes, and epithelial cells, but is absent on erythrocytes. B2M is essential for the stability and cell surface expression of MHC class I heavy chains, playing a crucial role in antigen presentation to cytotoxic T cells. Additionally, it is involved in TCR signaling and downstream signaling in naive CD8+ cells.
