Target Information

Rabbit C-Reactive Protein (CRP) is an acute-phase protein primarily produced in the liver in response to inflammation or tissue injury. It plays a crucial role in the innate immune response by binding to phosphocholine on the surface of pathogens and damaged cells, thereby promoting their clearance by phagocytic cells. CRP also activates the complement system, enhancing the immune response. Elevated levels of CRP are associated with various inflammatory conditions and serve as a biomarker for monitoring inflammation. As a key component of the acute-phase response, CRP is an important target for studying inflammatory processes and immune regulation.
