Target Information
Mouse uromodulin like protein 1 (UMODL1) is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored glycoprotein of the uromodulin family. It features conserved extracellular zona pellucida domains, multiple N-glycosylation sites and a C-terminal GPI-attachment motif critical for structural stability. It localizes to apical cell membranes, with tissue-specific expression in mouse kidney tubules and respiratory epithelium, with minimal levels in other tissues. The protein mediates cell-matrix adhesion and protein assembly, with conserved motifs for intermolecular interaction. Mouse UMODL1 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct tissue tropism differentiating it from uromodulin (UMOD).
