Target Information

Alpha-1-acid glycoprotein (AGP), also known as Orosomucoid (ORM), is an acute phase protein found in plasma. It belongs to the lipocalin protein family and serves various roles. It is an immunomodulatory protein expressed by hepatocytes in response to systemic reactions that follow tissue damage caused by inflammation, infection, or trauma. AGP is primarily synthesized in hepatocytes. AGP acts as a carrier protein for basic and neutrally charged lipophilic compounds.
