Target Information

Toltrazuril is a coccidiostat-a type of antiprotozoal drug used to treat and prevent coccidiosis, a parasitic disease in livestock and poultry. Its use is a concern for animal-origin food safety because of the potential for drug residues in edible tissues, especially in meat, liver, and kidneys, after treatment. The drug and its metabolites can persist in an animal's system for a period of time.
