Target Information
Mouse Interleukin-5 Receptor Subunit Alpha (Il5ra) is a critical component of the IL-5 receptor complex, essential for the biological activities of IL-5. This receptor is a heterodimer composed of an IL-5-specific alpha subunit (Il5ra) and a beta subunit shared by other cytokine receptors. Il5ra is highly expressed in eosinophils and basophils, mediating IL-5 signaling to promote the survival, proliferation, and activation of these cells. In mouse models, Il5ra plays a crucial role in regulating IgA production in mucosal tissues. Abnormal expression of Il5ra has been implicated in various diseases, including asthma and allergic responses.
