BioVenic rabbit polyclonal antibody is specific for rat paxillin. It is purified by protein A/G. It can be applied to WB, IHC, ICC and IP assays of rat paxillin.
Specifications
Target Information
Rat paxillin is a 591-residue cytoskeletal scaffold composed of an N-terminal polyproline region, five leucine-aspartate (LD) repeats that recruit focal adhesion kinase and vinculin, four C-terminal LIM domains that bind tubulin and actin, and tandem tyrosine phosphorylation sites at residues 31 and 118. The protein localizes constitutively to focal adhesions, costameres and podosomes in fibroblasts, vascular smooth muscle and alveolar epithelium. Antibodies generated against rat-specific N-terminal or full-length sequences recognize native and phospho-isoforms with negligible cross-reactivity to Hic-5 or leupaxin, enabling precise immunoblot and immunofluorescence detection in rat tissue homogenates and cultured cells.
